Andreas Bitesnich was born in 1964 in Vienna. He took up photography during his military service – his duty was shooting pictures for identity cards. In 1988 an acquaintance of his, a fashion photographer assistant, showed Andreas his portfolio. The next day Bitesnich bought his first camera and decided to become a photographer himself. In 1993 Bitesnich had his first exhibition in Vienna. In a couple of years his first photobook “Nudes” came out, later winning the Kodak Photography Book Awards. Since then, Bitesnich published five more books, which may illustrate the development of his outstanding style. His photography has been catching the attention of top European magazines – Stern, Playboy, Max and GQ to name a few. Besides, he is an author of anti-AIDS campaigns. In 2006 the author was included in the Rotovision Press list of the best nudes' photographers.
