The Brucie Collections gallery invites you to meet the art of Jeff Zaruba – an American photographer, traveler and teacher, equally talented both in his color and black and white photo creation.

Born in Chicago, Jeff Zaruba studied fine arts and photography in the Arizona State University. After graduating he received his first practical experience working as a photographer assistant before starting off his own, now 30-year long successful career.

Today Zaruba calls his home the city of Petaluma, California, though you can rather meet him in Honk Kong, Dubai, the city of Mexico or Venice, where the photographer finds inspiration and the objects for his photo works.

The black and white photography of Zaruba – without doubt being the main line of his art – is distinguished with a strong graphic element present in most of his images. Speaking of the influences on his style the author himself mentions such masters as Edward Weston and Paul Strand. In Zaruba’s works the interplay of shapes, shadows, reflections and light turns the objects both manmade and found in nature into new, often abstract, visuals.

The works of Jeff Zaruba are highly acknowledged in the USA and abroad, being a valuable part of prestigious private and corporate collections. The author’s account includes dozens of successful personal and collective exhibitions. Nine of his works were selected to become examples of the World’s Best Black and White Photography in the book of the same name.

In 2005 Zaruba won the first place and was awarded with the title Photographer of the Year at Spider Awards International Competition.

The selected works of Jeff Zaruba will be available to view and purchase in The Brucie Collections gallery starting from December, 12th, 2013.
